Upcoming Concerts

Andrea Bell, Conductor

March 15, 2026 – 3:00 pm – Jubilee Place

The Mennonite Community Orchestra, in collaboration with the CMU Festival Chorus, will present a spring concert for people of all ages and backgrounds. The concert will explore the importance of love, especially in our modern era and will feature “Romeo and Juliet, Suite #2” by Sergei Prokofiev, derived from his ballet adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet”. Prokofiev gives this classic story all the dramatic weight it deserves, with light woodwinds and heavy strings demonstrating the contrasting elements of romance and tragedy.

The second act features a performance of Srul Irving Glick’s “The Hour Has Come”. An orchestral setting of a poem by Carole Leckner, this piece is a collaboration between the orchestra and the CMU Festival Chorus, led by Janet Brenneman.

The Mennonite Community Orchestra’s ‘Now Is The Time…For Love’ concert will be held Sunday, March 15th at 3 pm at 181 Riverton Avenue.
