The Mennonite Community Orchestra relates to Canadian Mennonite University as its “Orchestra in Residence”. This relationship entails the following:
- CMU serves as the rehearsal and performance home base for the orchestra.
- CMU students may participate in the orchestra for ensemble credit or simply for enjoyment.
- CMU students perform as soloists with the orchestra upon recommendation of CMU Music Faculty.
- The MCO collaborates with CMU Choirs to present choral works requiring orchestra.
- CMU Students in composition classes are given the opportunity to workshop their pieces with the orchestra.
- CMU students write program notes for MCO concerts.
- CMU houses the MCO music library.
- The MCO offers a seat on its Board to CMU Music Faculty.
