MCO Membership
Membership in the orchestra is by invitation or referral, although preference is given to CMU students where appropriate. If you are interested in playing, please contact a member of the orchestra or its personnel manager for more information. As a general rule, it is expected that string players will have a skill level commensurate with at least RCM Grade 8, or its equivalent. A player may also be asked to prepare some music in the form of an “audition” if that is deemed appropriate.
Although this is an amateur ensemble, the Mennonite Community Orchestra strives to maintain the highest possible musical standards. Several members have played professionally and it is those musicians to whom we look to set the tone for rehearsals and performances. Consistent attendance and proper preparation for rehearsals will ensure the MCO enjoys its reputation as one of the finest ensembles of its kind.

Rehearsals
Each concert will be preceded by 6 weekly rehearsals, 2 string sectionals, and a dress rehearsal. Full orchestra rehearsals are 2.5 hours with a break in the middle.
Volunteer Opportunities
We rely on volunteer ushers for our concerts. If you would like to volunteer as an usher, please contact us at mcorchestrawpg@gmail.com.
